Containers and managed container services, such as Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) for launching and running Kubernetes applications, have become central parts of software development projects.

However, Kubernetes storage tends to focus on local environments, with the result that portability and data migration remain challenging.

To address these challenges, we have designed a solution for our customers based on Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP that allows you to run containers in the AWS Cloud in a particularly efficient, secure, and scalable way.

Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP helps automate the provisioning of storage regardless of which container-centric management environment you use, such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), RedHat OpenShift, or Amazon ROSA. 

The same volume provisioning capabilities are also available in self-managed Kubernetes clusters deployed on EC2 instances or non-AWS infrastructure. Application-specific workflows can thus be optimized to further accelerate development time.
