Who should take this exam?

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional is intended for individuals with two or more years of hands-on experience designing and deploying cloud architecture on AWS. Before you take this exam, we recommend you have:
  • Familiarity with AWS CLI, AWS APIs, AWS CloudFormation templates, the AWS Billing Console, the AWS Management Console, a scripting language, and Windows and Linux environments
  • Ability to provide best practice guidance on the architectural design across multiple applications and projects of the enterprise as well as an ability to map business objectives to application/architecture requirements
  • Ability to evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications on AWS
  • Ability to design a hybrid architecture using key AWS technologies (e.g., VPN, AWS Direct Connect) as well as a continuous integration and deployment process

Take the current Professional exam

You can take the current Professional exam for the certification you already have. For example, if you are an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional , you can retake the current AWS Certified Security – Specialty exam to recertify. You can use your 50% discount voucher from the Benefits section of your AWS Certification account to recertify or apply it to any future certification exam you wish to pursue.

AWS Certified Developer – Associate

AWS Certified Developer – Associate is a great starting point on the AWS Certification path for individuals who may have any of the following:

  • Experience working in a developer role with in-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language
  • Experience in AWS technology
  • Strong on-premises IT experience and understanding of mapping on-premises to cloud
  • Experience working in other cloud services

Prerequisites

To earn this certification, you’ll need to take and pass the AWS Certified Developer – Associate exam. (DVA-C01). So, for example, if you are an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, you can take the current AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam for recertification.
