Challenges

Standard GenAI services on the open web are built for broad, public use and are not intended for confidential enterprise work. They offer little control over where prompts and outputs are processed, which makes data residency and jurisdictional compliance uncertain. These services also often lack the role separation, identity management, and audit trails required for accountability.

Ensuring reliability presents another challenge. Model knowledge can quickly become outdated, and even when web lookups are available, these systems may generate incorrect or fabricated information, including invented facts and citations. As a result, all outputs require careful review before being used to inform business decisions.

In addition, organizations face intellectual property and compliance risks. Outputs can unintentionally reproduce protected material or include information that should not be disclosed under privacy laws.
